ICLEI has launched a new digital magazine covering the innovative practices of local governments “to make their communities cleaner, more economically prosperous, and more livable.” As the magazine’s name Planet Earth suggests, coverage focuses on the environmental aspects of livability, from climate change to energy efficiency.

The first issue is chock full of features including:

  • Green $cene,” which features coast-to-coast municipal  efforts to expand sustainability programs as a cost-saving strategy (p. 18-19)
  • 10 Keys to Sustainability Planning Success,” addressing the steps to developing a local sustainability plan (p. 29-30)
  • Driving Change,” on efforts to green the many facets of our transportation system (p. 51-53)

Each topic is presented in a concise, information-rich format with links to additional sources, making it easy for local government leaders to hone in on strategies relevant for their communities.
