These positions have been filled. Thank you for your interest. The National Vacant Properties Campaign is interested in hiring an intern to assist the Campaign Director. The Campaign is a project of Smart Growth America (SGA), the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC), Virginia Tech's Metropolitan Institute, and the Genesee Institute. The Campaign's goal is to make vacant property reclamation a priority by building a national network of leaders and experts; providing tools to communities; raising awareness through communications; and providing technical assistance and training. We focus on helping realize the potential of vacant properties as community assets - highlighting strategies to ensure they benefit the residents, communities, and cities around them. General intern responsibilities will include: Requirements: This position requires a self-motivated and detail-oriented person with excellent organizational skills. The candidate should be highly computer literate with specific experience in web research, database management, and website maintenance. Familiarity with HTML and CSS is a plus. Candidates must have superior research and writing skills. Familiarity with (as well as strong interest in) community development is a plus. Both undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to apply. Compensation and Time Frame: Summer internships are full time and last approximately 12 weeks. Start and end dates depend on the availability of the intern. While internships are unpaid, we are happy to explore fellowship or credit opportunities where applicable.
