Intern
Nicholas DeSante
Nicholas DeSante is an intern with SGA’s Housing and Development Team, focusing on assessing the impact of SGA’s past technical assistance work and initiating research on exploring current housing market dynamics and trends. He is currently a graduate student at William & Mary pursuing a Master’s in Public Policy.
Nicholas graduated with a Bachelor of Arts at William & Mary, majoring in Public Policy and minoring in Economics. As an undergraduate, he worked in the Student Assembly, intersecting sustainability and transportation advocacy, first as an undersecretary of sustainability and then as a class senator. He also served as the student representative for the Williamsburg Area Transit Authority (WATA) Advisory Committee.
In these roles, Nicholas collaborated with fellow student leaders to fund the restoration of the campus bike repair stations and advocate for late-night bus service on campus. Additionally, in efforts to reduce and divert waste on campus, he secured funding to install water bottle filling stations and launch a special waste management pilot program.
Nicholas is enthusiastic about local-level policy and community initiatives, and he is excited to help advocate for safe and prosperous communities at SGA.
