The National Complete Streets Coalition invites current and future members to pledge their support for the coalition’s mission, values, and outcomes we’re working to achieve. Mission & Values

The National Complete Streets Coalition strives to make Complete Streets the default approach to building and managing transportation systems across the U.S. We believe that the streets of our cities and towns must allow all people to safely, comfortably, and conveniently access everything they need by foot, bicycle, public transportation, or other preferred mode of transportation. A community’s street network should reflect the overall vision for its mobility future and support public health, environmental resilience, and economic prosperity for all members.

To realize our vision in communities across the country and nationwide, the coalition:

• Leads and convenes the broader Complete Streets movement, advocating for the approach and its implementation at the national, state, and local levels.
• Establishes and maintains Complete Streets standards and best practices.
• Provides hands-on training in Complete Streets for communities of all kinds, including the development of advocates, professionals and practitioners, and elected leaders.
• Produces compelling content about Complete Streets, including regular reports, storytelling, profiles, and in-depth research.

Challenges

Now more than ever, we need to come together to fight for our shared vision and stand with those working hard to create change every day. We’re looking for ways to bolster the Complete Streets movement through increased engagement with the National Complete Streets Coalition. In this unprecedented time, we need to lift up the voices of advocates on the ground, support practitioners implementing change, and demonstrate the power of Complete Streets as a transportation solution. One of the steps we’re taking to better support the movement, find new ways of engagement, and show our strength is with a new form to gather information and begin building out potential new membership models.

The form is meant to be quick and easy for those who have been long-time supporters as well as those just finding us. Our goal is to improve our ability to keep in contact with our members and gather baseline information that will be utilized to meet our goals in the coming years. Through this data, we plan to implement a new membership model, giving coalition members the flexibility to serve the Complete Streets mission in whatever way suits their organizational and individual capacity best.
