smartgrowthamerica.org/program/national-complete-streets-coalition/" style="font-size: 1.25rem; margin-right: 4px; margin-left: 4px;">National Complete Streets Coalition, a diverse coalition of prominent national organizations working for the adoption and implementation of Complete Streets policies across the country. The intern will help advance the work of the Coalition’s 2016-2020 Strategic Plan, which focuses on equity and implementation of Complete Streets. The intern will be an integral part of the Coalition’s work, including: doing research and drafting new resources; assisting in projects to assess policy implementation efforts; working with the Coalition’s Steering Committee and Partners; providing administrative support for events and workshops; and writing articles for our newsletter, blog, and social media.

Core responsibilities include:

• Researching and drafting new resources, tools, case studies related to equity and implementation of Complete Streets;
• Supporting the development and planning of events and workshops;
• Producing compelling content for our blog, newsletter, and social media.
• Other administrative duties, as assigned.

Requirements:

This position requires a motivated, intuitive, detail-oriented person with excellent writing, research, and organizational skills who is able to work with many types of people and organizations. Candidates should have a strong interest in transportation, equity, and public health. Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree and an educational background or work experience in academic research urban planning, public policy, public health, or social justice. Masters student or Masters degree in urban planning, public policy, or public health preferred.

Compensation:

The Internship comes with a monthly stipend. In addition, they will receive six days of paid sick leave or vacation for the 6-month fellowship and will have paid leave on all federal holidays that occur within the tenure at SGA.

Timeframe and Location:

This position is full-time, 40 hours a week. A commitment of six months is required.
